Education Funding Resources
We understand that many people who graduate from a medical school often
carry a heavy debt load to pay for their education.
Fortunately, help is available.
It is important to note that in order to be considered eligible for most
of the loan repayment and scholarship programs, a service obligation in
either a Health Professional Shortage Area (HPSA) or a “medically
underserved area” of California is required. All State operated correctional

In addition to the programs listed above, California Correctional Health Care Services and the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation currently allow for reimbursement of career related or upward mobility training in the amount of $200 - $300 per year. College attendance is included in this training. See DOM Section 32010.7.1 for more information on the approval process.
